Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Butter Cookies
    Prepare the Dry Ingredients
  1. Start by sieving the all-purpose flour (maida) and salt together. Next, powder the sugar and set it aside.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugar
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in Wet Ingredients
  5. Combine the creamed mixture with the egg and vanilla essence. Knead the mixture gently until it forms a smooth dough.
  6. Chill the Dough
  7. Wrap the dough in cling film or place it in a covered bowl and chill it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This will make it easier to roll out.
  8. Roll Out the Dough
  9. Once chilled, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes.
  10. Prepare for Baking
  11. Place the shaped dough pieces on a greased baking tin, ensuring they are spaced evenly apart.
  12. Bake
  13. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Note: Temperature may varies depends on the OTG oven you use. So keep an eye on the cookies after 10 minutes. Some OTG takes more than 10 minutes. Use Oven thermometer to check the temperature correctly.
  14. Cool and Store
  15. Once baked, let the cookies cool completely. Store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

    Enjoy your homemade butter cookies!
